Improving Day-To-Day Parking Interactions One Wave At A Time

Contactless Customer Journeys With EasyWaveâ„¢

2.5 min read

One common theme the pandemic has imposed on all businesses and consumers is the newfound need and desire for digitization. Despite the challenges surrounding the pandemic, industries across the globe have leveraged technology to eliminate shared touchpoints and process interactions with speed, convenience and no physical touch—even when entering a parking facility.

As contactless journeys have become the new norm, consumers expect to interact with touchless technologies when going about their day, including parking. EasyWave™-- a touchless entry option for gated parking systems—allows just that. With EasyWave, customers can now enter a gated parking facility with a simple handwave.

We sat down with Andrew Sgorlon, Technical Sales Support Manager here at Precise ParkLink, to get the inside scoop on EasyWave.

Q. What is EasyWave?

A. EasyWave is a hands-free entry option for gated parking systems that eliminates the need for customers to press a button to obtain an entry ticket at a gated parking entrance. Instead, customers can safely and efficiently receive an entry ticket with a simple handwave.

Q: How can EasyWave be integrated into parking technology?

A: In addition to being sold as a feature on new gated entry terminals, EasyWave can also be integrated with existing installations. This allows organizations with existing Precise ParkLink technology to meet health and safety standards without purchasing an entirely new system.

Q. How does EasyWave work?

A. Entry terminals include an infrared button or radar controlled button that illuminates green when activated by a handwave and dispenses an entry ticket. Once the ticket is obtained, the gate lifts and permits entry into the parking lot. Customers are still required to insert their entry ticket upon exit, followed by a contactless payment method.

Q. Has EasyWave been deployed?

A. Yes, EasyWave has been deployed and is currently being used by customers at many facilities across Canada, including CIBC Square, St Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and more.

Q: What is the vision for Precise ParkLink’s Touchless Solutions under the ParkSafe program?

A: Precise ParkLink’s full suite of Touchless Solutions under the ParkSafe program is comprised of management and technology offerings that aim to create safer, faster and easier customer journeys. We plan to deploy solutions that include best-in-class management and technical integration in this digital age, resulting in lean processes and frictionless experiences. Our in-house research and development team intends to accomplish this by providing touchless solutions such as EasyWave.

EasyWave brings organizations one step closer to complete digitization; however, it’s important to note that it’s only one component of a completely frictionless solution. To offer an authentic frictionless journey, organizations are required to leverage a sophisticated combination of touchless solutions such as EasyWave and contactless payment options with more advanced technologies. This includes license plate recognition, artificial intelligence and virtual customer service—all products that Precise ParkLink currently offers.

Precise ParkLink is committed to facilitating frictionless journeys through the continuous enhancement of our hardware and software endeavours.
