TORONTO, ONTARIO, NOVEMBER 22, 2023 - Today, (TPA) President Scott Collier and Luigi Lato, Chief Operating Officer at Precise ParkLink announced a significant upgrade to on-street parking technology with the launch of new multi-space Pay-by-License-Plate parking meters across the city.

The primary objective of this upgrade is to provide an unparalleled and seamless parking experience for the diverse community of Toronto.

The new parking meters are an upgrade to the current Pay-and-Display machines and feature a user-friendly touchscreen, offering an interactive experience. Recognizing the importance of payment flexibility, more payment options are now accepted. In addition to paying with the Green P App, customers can now pay by mobile tap-and-go via credit, debit, Google Pay, and Apple Pay, as well as a convenient scan-to-pay functionality. The Pay-by-License-Plate option means no more walking back to the car to display a ticket. The license plate number is the ticket.

For nearly 25 years, TPA has worked in partnership with Precise ParkLink to enhance the parking experience for Torontonians and visitors alike. The success of the largest deployment of Pay-and-Display parking meters across the City of Toronto in 1998 marked the beginning of a fruitful relationship. This latest endeavour builds on past successes.

The TPA and Precise ParkLink celebrated the first successful installation of the new Pay-by-License-Plate meters and the commencement of services on Wednesday, November 8th, on Spadina Avenue.

"The new and enhanced parking meters are set to significantly improve the overall parking experience,” said Faiyaz Patel, Director of On-Street Operations at the TPA.  “From the user-friendly interface to the wide array of payment options and enhanced accessibility features, we are confident that these new parking meters will create a seamless customer parking experience that delivers on choice, ease, and speed throughout the city.

“We are thrilled to upgrade the on-street parking technology from Pay-and-Display to Pay-by-License-Plate. This upgrade marks a revolutionary leap forward in our partnership and the smart mobility infrastructure growing within Toronto," states Luigi Lato, Chief Operating Officer at Precise ParkLink. "These advanced parking meters are poised to revolutionize the parking experience within the city, ushering in a new era of convenience and efficiency for all residents and visitors. We believe that this transformation will serve as a future model for urban parking excellence."
